Thanks for the earlier answers on setting up my IR543... it was really easier than I thought.

I've got 2 lights dimming now via the IR543. I read somewhere long ago that there was a way to tell the MX500 that while in DVD mode, if you hit the pause buton, you could make the lights come up, & then down again when re-starting the movie...

But a search leads me to believe that this ISN'T possible, that I would need to set up a macro for this to work, is that correct?

(Editing original message now...) If I have to use macros to do what I want here, I'm willing to give up the M1 & M2 buttons, but every time I go to the DVD page & try to program the pause button as an "actual" pause, it's interpreting this as a "delay" input instead... any way around this?

Thanks in advance for anyone with time enough to answer!

Learn the "Pause" command to an open LCD (or hard)labeled button, then you'll be able to use it in the macro.

I'll second Mike's advice - with all of the pages (and associated LCD buttons), it's unlikely you're using them all. I rarely use the 2nd page of LCD buttons on basic devices like TV or CD. I use the 2nd page for "hidden" commands to be used in macros.
