I've got an MX-700 programmable remote. The problem with this new Zenith DVD player is that the chapter skip buttons are the same that are used for FF and REW (unless you use the jog shuttle in which case you have to hold the shuttle). I cannot learn the FF and REW functions by holding the << and >> buttons on the 318 remote. Help! (I can't believe this MX-700 doesn't have seperate buttons for skip and FF/REW like the MX-500 - of course that wouldn't make a difference with this problem.)

Most people choose to program Ch+/Ch- to skip chapters. You should still be able to learn the commands on the shuttle with a "blind" technique. Put a book between the remotes at remove it mid-signal to capture. The buttons should work as press and hold, but it may require a few tries to learn properly.
