Try learning different ways, a short push, a long push until good shows, in dim lighting, do a search on this forum, it has been discussed many times. It has happened to me and it was a bad learn.

jph,

Be sure not to program the remote near any lamps that can cause interference.

Also, when programming, press the button on the MX-700 to be programmed, then hold down the buttom on the source DLP remote. Do not simply press the button on the DLP remote once; you must hold it down until the MX-700 says OK.

I say the opposite. Hold down the volume key on the device remote for one second before pushing learn on the 700 or the MX Editor software. I have found some receivers have two different codes for volume, one for going up incrementally with a single push, and a totally different code for going up with the button held down. So holding down the button before learning gets past the first single button code and into the other one you want.

Good luck,

E. J.

Try the flutter technique. After you put the MX-500 in LEARN mode, rapidly tap the volume key on your RCA remote and then test it out. You may have to try it a few times until it's smooth. Worked for me on my Phllips TV.
