I need some help right now. I have drywallers coming in the morning, and am scared I'm exposed with my GE. I have the MX800 and will need to have an IR blaster to go from the GE to the equipment closet. The blasters that come with the unit are only 10' long. My run is more lite 17-18'. I've read you can use Cat5e, so I ran that to the open box where the GE will be installed. Will I be able to utilize the Cat5? I really ran it blind, not knowing how to utilize it. Thanks!

yes you can use the cat5, easiest way is to just snip the wire for the flasher and scotch lock it to each end of the cat5(i.e. use the cat5 as an extention)
another option is to wire in a single gang grafik eye as a slave unit behind the equiptment and put your flasher on it
