I have been successfully using a MX500 remote for about a year with no problems. After buying a Sharp widescreen LCD TV, I noticed difficulty adjusting the volume and muting my Yamaha receiver. Other devices are affected to a lesser extent. After much experimentation, I discovered that the TV seems to be the problem. The remote works fine when controlling the receiver and a CD player for example. The TV is directly over all of my other components. Has anyone had this type of a problem? Is there any solution known?

This is a typical problem with plasma TV's as well. The easiest solution is to move your components away from the TV. If that's not possible, you need to control them by either an RF remote like the MX-600 or 800, or get a wired IR repeater system like a Hot Link Pro, Xantech or Niles where you can place the IR receiving eye away from the TV. Thanks for the info and the relatively cheap solution. I've ordered from your website before and will be ordering a Hot Link Pro shortly.

Curious...I have a 30" Sharp soon to be 2 years old & no interference on the MX700. Wondering if the A/V box might be close or ? I have a satellite receiver on the same shelf as the screen but about 6" behind the screen, Marantz A/V on the same level as the screen. Is it possible that the MX700 is stronger or the older Sharp is less "radioactive"?
Once I was measuring tempuratures on a ReplayTV with a thermometer having two readouts (made for labs) & the one near the LCD went nuts--readouts bouncing from 80 to 112 degrees. The screen had been off for 15 hours at the time. I don't spend much time very close. :) The thermometer behaved normally abou 2 feet out from the screen. Are you glowing yet?
