...And I'm not sure what I've gotten myself into. How hard is it to program this thing? Will I be able to do it having never done it before? If not, how do I find someone who can help? Thanks!

It is reasonably easy to program. Download the programming manual and tutorial from here on HomeTheaterMaster.com. They will help a great deal.

Also, as you get into the programming, there are a great number of us on this forum who are willing to help you in any way we can.

I felt the same way when I first got the remote. The manual referenced in the other post is an excellent manual. I read thru it twice before starting to program my remote.

I also downloaded some of the .mxf files from this website to see what other people had done.

Do the basics first to learn how the editor and the remote work. Then move on to the more complex tasks. Do all your remote programming in IR mode. Make sure everything works before switching to RF.

There is another post on this site that talks about the steps to use when setting up the MRF-200. Follow these steps. Otherwise you may end up trying to "fix" macros that are not broken but are having problems with the MRf-200

good luck

Thanks guys. I might as well ask this early since I know I'll need it. Is there a source for discreet codes for the Sharp 10k and Bravo D1?

The Bravo D1 has no discrete codes. :(
Yet another example of how V Inc. really doesn't know what they're doing...

Thanks.

After I read the manual and tutorial, where Should I start? Here's the primary equipment I want to control in my home theater:

Pioneer receiver VSZD8115
Motorola Cable box DCT2224
Sharp projector XV-Z10000
Bravo D1 DVD
Lutron Grafik Eye 3104
XBox

well good luck. you could probably get the base programming done pretty easily. macros, especially if you want to include the lutron, will be a bit tricky. be patient, its not that hard. hopefully you have a cat-5 going to your projector? if you dont u gotta hit the projector with line of sight....

I start?

Start on page 17 of the manual and follow page-by-page. Exploit the IR database. See if your exact model is in the database or a model very close to it.

If you have a laptop, set yourself up in front of your gear. Makes things much easier for testing.

Ok, think I have a handle on this, thanks for the advice. Does anyone have codes for a Pioneer VSX-D811S receiver?

Never mind. There's one for the 912 in the files section. I'll try that.
