I am still waiting for my MX-700 to be shipped to me and was playing around with the software to edit it. I see there is no IR database for my receiver, which is the Yamaha RX-V1300. It was a pretty popular model which makes me believe the database is quite old. I even downloaded the updates and still no RX-V1300. Does anyone know why URC would do this, or/and how would I get the RX-V1300 in there? They do list an RX-V1200, but I never owned one and don't know if anything matches up. This also applies to my progressive scan DVD player. Panasonic RP56. A very popular DVD player, but that's not listed either. Why are the updates even out-of-date?

Generally, manufacturers do not change IR codes very often. Therefore, if a particular IR code works with a large number of components of a particular brand, there's no reason to list every model from every year. If they did so, the program would end up being huge and 90% of it would be redundant.

In the case of your components, the RX-V1300 is in the database (near the end of the list, just before the generic Yamaha codes) and you should be able to use the RP-91 codes for your RP-56.
