The MX800 won't learn my XM radio remote as it takes but MX800 buttons don't work.

Anyone have it?

Found in Pronto..."I do know that the I.R. codes are toggle bit codes. These codes are very difficult to teach into most learning remotes. It may be a while before anyone uses anything but the original remotes for these units."

What are toggle bit codes and does the MX700/800 series take them?

Toggle bit codes are the same as parity bit codes described here. I have been unable to use any MX remote with my SKYFi XM radio. The only universal remote I've been able to use with it so far is a Harmony, which actually has the SKYFi in their equipment list.

Jim, I just saw the post you mentioned in the Pronto forum about learning to a Pronto. I'll have to try that again as it didn't work the first time I tried it. If it does, we may be able to import the commands.

This is what I did when I tried to learn the commands from my SkyFi remote to my MX-500. Press the button on the SkyFi remote that you want to learn and then press the little XM button that's between the semicircle up and down keys. It works great for everything except numbers because the little XM button acts as an enter key. For example, I can enter in presets 0-9 ok, but I can not direct tune into channel 22 because every time I press the number two the MX-500 sends 2 and Enter. The work around for me was to get the stations I wanted into presets and don't try to direct tune with the MX-500.

Hope this helps,
Kenny
