I had a Harmony SST-768 and couldn't Harmony folks on the phone. Before that , I had (and still have) a Sony RM-AV2100 thAT was not very useful. Now I have a MX-700 and I really want to get this up and running. To do so, I am looking for the on/off discretes (or a work around) for the following components:

Toshiba SD-1700 DVD player
Mitsubishi HS-U550 VCR
General Instrument CFT2200 Cable Box

Question is the following. If I find a device on the IR database that has discretes that work, how do I add them to my remote without replacing all the learned cdommands I havfe programmed into it. While it wouldn't take a lot of time to reprogram, it would take some time.

My sincerest Thank-you to anyone who can help.

Mark

I don't believe that you will find discretes for the General Instrument box... it's been their policy to not support them.

I don't know about the others.

There are two ways that you can accomplish this.

1. Create a new device and download the codes. Then you can shortcut to the specific code from the other device that you have already learned the codes on. You can then hide the first device. OR

2. You can download the codes to a new device, then learn it to another remote (if you have an extra remote that can learn codes, which seems that you already have a few of those) and then you can learn it back to the original device on your MX700 and then you can erase the temporary device.

That will work without having to relearn all of the ones that you have already placed in memory.

Hope this helps.
