Greetings,
I recently purchased an MX-500, and am trying to program it to power on my NEC front projoctor using the MX-500 'power' macro key. It appears that the projector needs a sustained press of the 'power on' key to turn it on. The same is true for turning off the projector. I tried programming several 'on' commands to the MX-500 maco key, but it doesn't seem to work.
Has anyone else seen this, and figured out a solution?
thanks in advance.

You can't program a "hold down" button in a macro to the MX-500 (or the MX-700 for that matter). You just have to hold the button down manually. Mike www.SurfRemote.com

I have a similar situation with my PJ. I learned the power code. Then learned it to another key a second time. When I learned it the second time I had a book blocking blocking the signal when I started pressing the PJ's power button. After ~ .5-1 second I removed the book. The second code doesn't learn the header information. Then create a macro using the first code and repeating the second code as many times as needed. It'll probably take a few times to learn correctly and mine requires 4 repeats of the second code. But, I'm sure this will vary.
Hope this helps.
