I'm having some trouble getting discrete on/off codes to work with my new MX-700. The MX-700's IR database contains a device for the Motorola DCT5100 HDSTB that I have from Comcast, yet the P-ON and P-OFF codes in the database both toggle power-on/power off - they don't behave as discretes. I'm having a similar problem getting discrete on/offs programmed for my Denon DVD-1600 DVD player and my Sony KF-42WE610 LCD RPTV. Any help would be appreciated!

Try the Panasonic RP-91 on/off commands for your DVD-1600. They should work. For the others, look for some Pronto files here on Remote Central and use the "Universal Browser" to import them into MXEditor. Mike www.SurfAudioVideo.com

Thanks again, Mike. I Found an .mxd file for the DVD-1600 here and it seems to be working. I found a .pcf file for the Sony KF60WE610 that I assume will have the same discrete codes for on/off as the KF42WE610, but the MX-700 Universal Browser doesn't seem to like a .pcf file. What's the difference between a .pcf and a .ccf, and does the Universal Browser accept .pcf files?

PCF files are used with the new Pronto TSU3000. The Universal Browser will not accept those (even the regular ProntoEdit won't), only CCFs and only learned or directly entered hex commands in CCFs can be used.

Motorola doesn't include discrete on or off on those boxes

We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours. |
