I just ordered my MX-700 and would like some help. I looked through the IR Database and couldn't not find any of my components listed:
TV: Sony KP-57WS510 Receiver: Sony DA30ES DVD: Pioneer DV-563A VCR: Toshiba M751
I would like any help in mainly programming the TV and Receiver. Specifically for my TV, if anyone know of any discrete codes, such as one to select specific inputs.
Any help in getting my components setup would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have a Sony DA30ES and a MX500. The MX500 will learn most of the Sony remote commands, but not the soundfields. It will however turn the soundfield on and off, so you can set it to AFD (auto format decode) or another soundfiled and then it will switch between this and regular stereo. There are some 0158 and 0159 codes that may work for you, but I don't have a JP1 cable yet so haven't been able to try them.

Try using some similar components in the IR Database and/or look through the Files section of Remote Central for either MX-700 .mxd files that can be imported or Pronto CCFs that can be opened with the Universal Browser feature of MXEditor. Mike www.SurfRemote.com

If the CCF stuff doesn't fly, I believe I can translate (learn) my OFA 30ES DSP codes into the 700. If you're interested, let me know and I'll try it this evening. I can upload a MX file if it works.

What about the discrete input codes for my Sony TV. Anyone have any ideas about that?

Actually, I do. I have a Sony KP 53 inch. They all use the same codes, so just pick any KP model in your IR database and it really should work. You will be happy to know that Sony has blessed us with discrete codes for power on/off AND for the video 1-5 input too! Yee-ha. Just shout if you need more help: I was in the same spot 2 months ago. You made a good choice with the MX700 though.
