I am not having any crash problem with a fresh install of XP, but the "save as" command is a problem. I have been trying some different settings in a file and after making changes I try and save as. it gives me "File Create Error". I would like to save the changes under a different name. Thanks

Bo,

Some of the problems other people have been having happen after a save command. So, if you feel like volunteering, I could send you a link for the special test program. It will still crash, but it will create a written log file of the experience for our programming team.

I'm also experiencing the crash problem. Running version 182 on Windows XP. Have had the MX700 for a few months. Just decided to perform some tweaks.

I was modifying macro on various LCD buttons. Performed save between operations so I didn't lose changes. Went to LCD Button Editor. Hid page 2. Program crashed.

If anyone experiencing crashes would like to download a version that tests why the software is crashing, please email me.

For what it's worth, I tried uninstalling MX Editor, then re-installing it from the pre-8/1 version off the website. Unfortunately, Editor did not recognize any of my saved .mxf files when I attempted to load them, apparently because they "were saved in an older version..." Then I tried to just upload my remote config. into the legacy version of Editor, but it would not recognize my remote. (also a version conflict??)
So now I'm back on the crash-happy 8/1 version with everyone else...
Eric, sorry I haven't been following-up with you on the trace log idea - have you had any success with this yet, or are you still waiting for a volunteer?

I downloaded and installed the 1.11.183L version of the MX700 editor to keep a log of any problems or crashes and since I installed the logging version, I haven't had a crash or any problem with the software. I've used it dozens of times in tweaking my MX700... and no problems!

Just thought that I would just let you know. Either the program is slightly different, or reinstalling the program fixed my (infrequent) crashing problem.

So far so good!

Sal - I've had the same experience...after downloading the logging version. I've dinked around for over an hour, especially with the Button Editor...playing 'button roulette' without a single crash.

I have also wondered about either the reinstall fixing the problem or the 'logging version' being slightly different in some way that eliminates the crashes...???

I haven't had a crash yet since re-installing, but I have only been in the Editor for a minute or two so far...
I'll give it a real test - and if it starts crashing again, I'll try the 'logging version.' By the way, where do I get it??
