Is there an easy way to tell if a particular code set uses discrete power on/off codes? (This is a general question. I'm not looking for a specific code for a specific device ... yet).
When I view a code set in MXEditor and look at the LCD button names, in a few cases it shows buttons like "PWR+" and "PWR-", so I know that the code set has discretes for power. Is it also true that a code set can have discrete power associated with the On and Off hard buttons? If so, can one tell just by looking or does it really require testing against the actual device?

With many devices, the "Power On/Off" commands will be assigned to the "On" and "Off" buttons by using the IR database. You should see them flagged as "Power On" or "Power Off". If they're not flagged that way, and there are no additional on/off commands on the LCD-labeled buttons, that device doesn't have discretes in the IR database. Mike www.SurfRemote.com
