I just received the MX-500 and was able to program 6 devices without any problem plus added a few customizations. For some reason, I am having a difficult time executing the instructions for a Punch Through that will allow me to control the TV Volume (NOT my audio receiver volume) while playing a DVD. When I follow the instructions, I do not get control of the TV volume while in my DVD screen and it also removes the volume contol when I switch back to the TV device screen. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance to those of you that responds.

2. punch
3. vol
4. TV
5. TV

6. vol
7. DVD
8. TV
9. main
10. main

First, punch through the TV device both "FROM" and "TO" the TV. Check to see that the TV volume now works while in the TV device. Then, go back into punch through mode, select VOL, then DVD, then TV, to punch through the volume from the TV to the DVD.

Whoops, too slow. Just do what Edmund said. ;-)

When I watch a DVD I have programmed my MX-700 (similar)to use the channel up/down for my amp volume and my volume up/down for TV volume.

I then can select which I want to use so to not waste big amp use when the kids watch a DVD over and over, running in and out of the house.
