Are there plans for or is there a way to extend the range of the MX800's RF range? Is there an RF repeater that would work?

I have a very big house :)

Do you already own the MX-800 and it's not working out? I ask because I've been very surprised at the working distance of the MRF-200. It works instantly through 3 floors in my home.

To answer your question, I don't believe there are any additional products in the pipeline like this.

Yes I have the Mx800 and my problem is that my house is very long and I have rooms that are just out of range. It also doesn't help that my house is steel frame construction.

What I have been doing to compensate is setting up an extra MRF-200 to fire at one of my IR sensors in the distant part of the house, but that is a less than ideal solution.

I have given this thought, and I think the best solution may be to attempt extending the base station's antenna.

the best thing to do is get multiple MRF-200 base stations, or get another MX 800 and clone it, then use it for one side of the house.

Your house's steel frame is going to interfere with the IR signals, as you have found out already...
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

I'd suggest placing the MRF-200 in the center of the house for maximum range, then connect one of the IR line outs to a Xantech connecting block near the components.

David, How do you suggest that I extend the antenna? That sounds like something I would like to try.

I haven't attempted this, but you may have luck attaching a long antenna to the existing antenna. It may require a bit of experimentation.

If you are going to run a long wire, do it the emitter way. It will perform much better. If you cannot get power to the area, and could extend the antenna you must extend it with coaxial cable like RG59. You will find it very difficult to get optimum performance without an impedance matching circuit. I highly recommend that you move the base station and extend the IR line output.
