Of course I will pay a reasonable price for this. I also may replace my Pronto 6000's that control a theater and gameroom and would need programming (we just don't like the size of these units...plus I bought a iPronto early this year and it works pretty well but is too large). I have the following components for this application:

1. Sony Plasma w/media box (MBT-XBR900)
2. Sony HDTV HD200
3. Sony DVD - DVP-CX875P
4. Sony TIVO SAT-T60
5. Phillips TIVO DSR-6000R01
6. Pioneer DVD Recorder - DVR-7000
7. Samsung DVD/VCR DVD-V3500
8. X10 lighting - use a IR543 AH (all code receiver)

I assume you didn't program the Pronto 6000 or the iPronto yourself, or I would say you would have no problem programming the MX-800 yourself. It's much easier than the other two remotes if you want to give it a shot.

Otherwise, you might want to post this in the "Custom Installers" forum as well.

I actually did program my previous Pronto's. As with everything else, I get so involved and before I know it I spend tons of time on things like this. I checked and some of my equipment is not within the IR database and no one has created them on these file pages (like the Sony 50" Plasma's media box - which I had to create on the Pronto and couldn't do some of the cool PIP features, etc.). I just didn't want to learn another remote if someone would do it for me :)

I guess I'll just take the time and review the editor program and spend the time (unless someone makes me an offer:)

If you have all the codes for your equipment setup in a pronto, the new version of HTM software allows you to just drag and drop those codes to the 800/700. Works like a charm and should save you some learning time.

Only if the codes were learned - but you could just as easily use the Pronto to teach the MX remote, though!

I have everything in the Pronto except the Plasma...but where do I drag and drop? And how? It wasn't clear how I would bring this in (and my color pronto uses tons of custom icons, settings, etc.).

If the codes are learned open the .ccf using the Universal Browser feature in MX Editor. From there you drag the code to any button on the MX-700/800 on the screen. It's intuitive, post if you need more help!

Just picked up some remote configurations and in a few minutes I have the MX-800 working very well. Its pretty amazing and easy. I could not initially figure out how to bring in other configurations and one right click and Import Devise and then choose the devise and the box to put it in and it works! I used another Sony XBR file and it does what I need. Great remote.

A probably spent about a mon-month programming my Pronto over the years. I have an 800 up & running (programming buttons from Pronto, even though they were learned but not showing up that way). Need to work favorites next. Very easyu. Starting to like the 800 better.
