I've had my MX500 about 10 days now and it's by far the best remote I've ever had. Easy to program; very flexible; works like a dream; and the kids and wife can use it, too.

A couple of things I've discovered with it: I set it up mainly on a device basis, but had a couple of device buttons left. I labeled one of them for Home Theater use, used the punch through, and programmed in all the most common commands for the various devices I use for movie watching. I labeled another device "SPECL" and programmed in a number of different input commands to the number keys. Then I used those commands to program the favorite keys for easy switching back and forth between regular and digital cable (it requires changing inputs on the TV and Amp). Effectively works like a macro key and frees up the macros for other uses.

I'm sure others have found unique things like this for their MX500. I thought I'd post these and see if anyone else had other good ideas.

Next up on the learning curve: Discrete codes.

Barry.
