I just bought one and looked at the manual on line. I am a reasonably intelligent person, so my question is:
Is the process starightforward and intuitive, or is it for IT geeks? Thanks and happy remoting

No, I've found the software to be VERY easy to use! Download the software and play around - you can't hurt anything :) (Be sure to do a Live Update after opening it the first time)

If you need any help at all, don't hesitate to ask.

The MX-700 editing software is very straightforward and intuitive. THe programming consists basically of 8 steps that each have icons at the top of the screen. If you haven't downloaded the software yet you should do so immediately. I am sure you will find that it is no problem at all to program. Most people even find it enjoyable. If you do have any problems or questions, the people who post here at this site will be more than happy to help you.

Programming FAVs was a bit non-intuitive, but once I read the manual (for the first time, was able to program everything else without it) it became sooper easy.

It's that thing you misplace 10 minutes after opening the box. :-)

I struggled when I first setup my 700. But after a couple of fumbles, I caught on. The keys are asking for help when you need it and being patient.
