Got the 800 yesterday and spent all last night programming it. Amazing remote.
Question about the Fav section: I programmed 5 pages of favorites that are selected from the cable box. Enabled pass through of channel up/down to FAV pages. Problem though is that in order to input a channel number directly or use the guide or info, you have to back out from the FAV pages and go into the cable pages. I cant seem to figure out how to program the hard buttons on the 5 Favorite pages to also control the cable box.
I thought I would add a final step at the end of each Favorite macro to go to the cable page, but that doesnt work since then you cant scroll through the favorites. I also thought about putting fewer number of favorites on the 2 free cable pages, but I want to use the favorites menu for what its designed for.
I hope this makes sense and that there is something I am overlooking.
Thanks for the help.

The hard buttons on the MX-700 or 800 are not programmable in FAV mode. However, if you program the hard buttons on the MAIN page with shortcuts to the respective cable device buttons, they will be available while in FAV mode. Mike www.SurfRemote.com

Mike, worked like a charm. Many thanks. Here's another one for the smart guys:
I could have sworn that I read somewhere in the programming manual that you in a macro you could force the button to stay depressed for a certain amount of time? Well, that was last night, and now three reads later, I cant find it anywhere. I know how to input a pause in a macro, but that's not what I want to do. I want one of the buttons in a macro to stay depressed for 1 second.
Any thoughts?
Thanks again - times like these are when the power of the internet really shine.

There is no way to program a "hold down" in a macro. The best you can do is have repeated button pushes. In the cases where a "hold-down" is needed (as with some projectors), some people have found IR database or Pronto commands that worked. It's a tough problem in any event.
