Those features weren't ready for full release this month, but they're coming soon! You'll be able to program them without the need for the remote to be connected to the PC.

Is "SCAN" for scanning your "FAV"s?

In my experience, on a remote, scan means one of two things:
  1. While programming, scan for a matching pre-programmed device code. Basically, you go from one code to another until one works.

  2. Slowly increase the channels so you can see a few seconds of each show before deciding what to watch. Basically, channel surfing for the lazy
Given that this is likely a programming feature, I'd guess it's the first option above.

I think the scan feature will basically be the same and the "P-PRO" section of the MX-500. In the MX-500, this section allows you to do the same type of programming scan that David mentioned. And its in the same place too.
