I'm getting some "sticky" keys on my MX-700. Is it ok to pop the top casing off for cleaning purposes? And does it just pop off or is there a secret sequence involved?

Tony,

We've had success using rubbing alcohol lightly for cleaning purposes on the keypad. Opening the case would void the warranty!

David,

How would "rubbing alcohol lightly for cleaning purposes on the keypad" help whats below that is sticking?

I'm getting some "sticky" keys on my MX-700.

This could mean that the keys themselves are sticky, perhaps some juice or something was spilled on them :)

Thanks David... I'll try the alcohol solution first. Nothing has been spilled on the remote, I just think it's a matter of some dirt getting into the keys. Alcohol may disolve it :-) Failing that, I may try injesting the alcohol and forget about the problem....

I'd like to quickly point out that I have only used this method to clean the surface of the remote.

In that vein (pun intended), injesting the alcohol goes below the surface, but makes the surface look awfully funny!

FYI.
