I am searching for a universal remote that will run my Mitsubishi VS5043 Big Screen TV. Most important is the Menu codes and Input Button. I have no clue on universals, but don't want to pay $69.00 for replacement remote from Mitsu. Can anyone recommend a universal brand?

Every remote we carry should replace your existing remote just fine! I'd recommend something PC-Programmable, such as the MX-700 or MX-800, so that you can easily use codes pre-programmed into the software, but with a little more work the MX-500PKG would be terrific as well, allowing you to get Mitsubish discrete codes from a Pronto file into the MX-500. I'm guessing that if you don't want to pay $69 for a replacement remote, you probably don't want to spend more than that for a universal remote. With that in mind, you should look at a One for All 8811 or 8910, or their Radio Shack equivalents. They're all $30 or less and will likely provide full control with advanced codes or certainly with the use of JP1. Mike www.SurfRemote.com

Mike, you guessed right. I almost passed out when I saw some of the prices on the remotes suggested by the BlueDo guy (although I really appreciated him taking the time to help me out!). I will research the ones you suggested as they look a little more in my price range.
