I have been having problems getting a few of my created macros to work properly. One is totally perplexing that I will describe below.
I have a Faroudja NRS video processor that emits IR codes to be learned. Using MX editor, I have successfully learned the codes for power on & power off. To program discrete codes, one has to sequence two codes as a macro. I first learned the toggle on and off codes and then separately learned a second code to sequence with the first. When I test the learned single codes, they both function as expected. However, when I create a macro combining the two to perform a discrete off, I get a totally unexpected result when testing the macro: the tv turns on, and no response from the Faroudja. Even if I test the second code by itself (same code that worked above) within the macro, the tv will turn on and will get no response from the macro. Testing the same code by itself from the learned button, it works as expected. I don't know if I am clearly describing what is happening. In essence placing the same learned code within a macro functions totally differently. I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks, L Stern

If you assign the discrete code to a button, it works, but within a macro it doesn't? Does it work if the Faroudja code is first in the macro? If that works, I suspect the Faroudja is wanting a delay before it's code is sent - try sending the TV code, then a delay, then the Faroudja code. If that works, you can fine tune the delay time until it's short enough to be tolerable but long enough to satisfy the Faroudja.

Thanks for your response. I don't think I gave a clear description of the problem.
The Faroudja IR emitter includes 2 separate IR codes, P On (0) and P Off (1). Both of these are power toggles. To create a discrete power off for example, a two step macro is created. The first step can be either of the two (since it is a toggle); the second step of the macro would be the P Off (1) that the manual states should be initiated < .25 msec after the first entry.
To accomplish this, I learned both the above IR codes to individual buttons. Testing these, both functioned as toggle power codes. I then created a simple macro with the first entry the above p on, followed by the p off with a .2 second delay. Testing the macro led to the initial result described in my first post. I then created a single entry dummy macro with the p off code. Testing within the macro, this single entry macro turned on the TV and did not affect the Faroudja. This seems very weird to me: initiating basicly the same code as the learned button that worked appropriately did not work the same way when sent via a macro command. I also should make clear that the macro did not include any TV reference at all.
Does this make sense? Sorry for the long post.

Have you tried this combination without the 0.2 second delay?

Mike,
I haven't tried it without a delay but will later today. Thanks.
