I need TagMclaren Codes for the AV192R and the DVD32R. The MX-700 won't learn and reproduce teh codes accuratley or as expected. I am attempting to convert a CCF file to the MX-700, but so far have had no success, so if anybody has them, let me know.

If there aren't any codes in the database, and learning doesn't work, and the codes from the .ccf doesn't work, I suspect that perhaps the Tag codes are out of the range that the MX-700 can send.

Have you tried calling Home Theater Master and asking them about your Tag equipment? You can call them at (800) 901-0800.

The CCF files don't work because they're using RC5 codes, which you can't drag-and-drop with the universal browser.

I had an AV32R that I could never get to work satisfactorily with the MX700. I believe it was due to Tag using codes, on some buttons, that change with each button press. This is a very annoying issue that I have never found a solution to. I ended up changing to a Lexicon Pre that works great. I kept my Tag Amps that work fine with the remote.

Wow! You changed your preamp to suit your remote! That's a bit extreme, unless you weren't happy with the TAG preamp?

:) no that was just one of many reasons. I wanted to try logic 7 which I now love and was also considering an upgrade to the new Tag unit but decided to go with the Lex instead. I like Tag gear but the pre was a bit buggy and the need to send it to England for upgrades etc. was a downside as well.

In the past few years, discrete code availability has been a serious criteria for new home theater devices in my arsenal! If equipment doesn't have codes I'll need, I don't consider that unit. There are plently of fish in the sea, so to speak.

Hi

Many Meridian codes conflict with TagAV32 codes and as such by pressing the "enter" comand on a Meridian unit it will action the "setup" on the TagAV32 etc.

A number of Meridian codes are found with in the MX-700 IR code libary. One option you may then have is to identfy the relevent conflicting IR comands and use these to operate parts of your Tag unit. Any outstanding codes that can not be found using conflicting Meridian codes you would have to try the problematic learning feature you mentioned again.

There may be other manufacturers codes that conflict with the Tag unit which could there for help towards compiling a more comprehensive prtfolio of pre-programed commands, however at present I am not aware of them.

I am supprised that the MX-700 does not contain the Tag codes in it's IR libary as Tag use the SL-9000 remote control as the pre-programed remote control unit they ship with the AV32R, both the MX-700 & Sl-9000 being products manufactured by "univrsal Remote Control Theatre Master".

Good luck
