Is anyone having problems with RF interference with devices such as mircowaves or any thing else and the MX800? Any input will be welcome.

I'm not, and I just tried using the remote inches from my trusty Kenmore :) Are you having such problems, or are you asking if you should expect them? David www.BlueDo.com

I use my MX-800 in a pretty dirty environment. I have a radio shack wireless modem for my Replay TV, plus I have a WiFi 802.11 wireless network running three computers all day, with much activity on the internet. In addition I have two microwave ovens. I get a reliable 75' in any direction, good macro operation. I have tried other products from Philips, Niles and RTI. None have done better than 30 feet! I am installing two MX800's in a customers house one in a kitchen with a sharp 20" LCD the other with a fujitsu plasma. I am using the MX800 to control an Elan Z630 and Z880. The original install was a dinky link receiver attached to the LCD connected to a Z100 through the ir input, controlled with an MX500. The problem tech support tells me is that the dinky link was feeding crap from the LCD into the system locking up the keypads in the system. We replaced the dinky link with both the audioplex and xantech plasma proof ir systems with no luck. They both worked with the Z630 but not with the Z880 Elan said they were working on it. So now here we are with the idea to to use the MX800 with the system. We hooked up the RF extender to the Z100 through a niles brain, and it worked like a charm, for about three hours or so. The lED on the RF extender started to blink without any remote activity. The microware was running when it happened the first time, the next time i am not sure what caused it, there doesn't really seem to be any consistency. It seems to be working fine now, but i just don't want to get a call saying it isn't working. Thanks in advance for all the input

Hi, any thoughts if a large 63 inch plasma can cause interference with the rf part of the MX800 system? I am pulling out my hair now having spent almost $500 on Sonance and Audioplex plasma proof ir systems and it still doesnt work. I have the components in a closet directly behind the plasma, so I wonder if the interference could be messing with the ir signals from the ir flashers through two walls? I don't think so though since they sit on top of the components ir receiver. Just want to make sure that another $500 investment isn't going to be wasted. Many thanks.

E.J., So far so good for me now, haven't had any calls about the remote in the master bedroom where there is a 42" plasma. I have been down the same road as your with the audioplex stuff, and the MX800 was the last hope that I had. It seems to be working just fine in that room, but I am having issues with the MX800 in the Kitchen, that was the reason for this post, but there isn't a plasma in the room, just an LCD so I think you are safe.

Thank you. I guess I need to try it out. I wish the MX600 would come out now, I think that is all the power I will need.
Thanks,
E. J.
