I wanted to know if there's any way to speed up the macros. My power on and off macro's are a bit too slow, requiring about .5 seconds or so in between component switching. I have no delays on these 2 macros. Any ideas?

There is no way to change the speed of sending out the macros, but if you any of the learned IR codes in the macro have been learned incorrectly, it could slow down your macro.

If you have learned the codes by holding down the button on your original remote rather than just tapping it, the MX-700 could capture more of the code than it needs.

Try relearning the codes. It may help.

If you do not want to relearn the code and know how to use a hex editor, you can change the code from a repetitive to a single-shot command by doing the trick shown in this thread:

(I believe, although have not tested in practise, that single-shot commands are executed quickier in macros.)

I never understood why URC didn't design the MX-700 so you could tweak the macro speed. Even my first generation Marantz RC-2000 could do it.

I have just sent a message to the "powers that be" at URC about being able to adjust the speed of a macro on the MX-700/800.

I will let you know what they tell me when they reply.

Greg,

Just wondered if URC had responded yet about Macro speed. Girlfriend has problems w/ pointing the remote while macros are running. Thanks.

The people at URC are looking at the matter. I expect an answer shortly.
