I purchased a Radio Shack 15-2103 for the single purpose of "teaching" discrete codes to my MX-500. I am trying to find out how to get a discrete POWER OFF for my Sony CD player. I just discovered that the RS 15-2103 does not support a CD player device. Thanks to your advice I was able to get the discrete codes to control my TV, DVD, Audio, and VCR (except Video 4 on my Sony Wega, I can't get it to work; but I could work around this).

Sony Wega TV should be Device 0000-- Video 4 should be 029. This is the advanced code. I assume you needed the code to get the MX to go directly to Video 4. Do you have a separate CD player? It looks like your DVD discretes are working. On your Sony CD try using advanced code 0533 with 113 for discrete on and 109 for discrete off. Its worth a try.

There isn't any CD player codes in the 2103.
