Hi,
I just got an MX-500, mainly due to reviews on this site. I managed to easily use a combination of pre-programmed codes and learning from existing remote controls to get it working with my Sony TV and NAD DVD player (although none of the codes listed for NAD players worked, several others did when I scanned through).
However I am having a lot of trouble getting the MX-500 to work at all with my NAD T751 receiver. None of the three pre-programmed codes give more than a few basic functions, I tried scanning all the available codes and could find no others that would work. Next I tried using learning from the NAD remote control. The mx-500 appears to "learn" the functions correctly, flashing "GOOD" when the NAD remote buttons are pressed etc. But when I try to use any of the learned buttons they do not work - they don't appear to even be sending a recognisable signal as the green light on the receiver indicating remote communication doesn't flash either.
I have tried new batteries in the NAD remote and that made no difference. However, I do wonder if it may be a problem with my NAD remote controller, as the receiver sometimes seems a bit unresponsive to it too. Does anyone else have any experience with the mx-500/NAD T751 combination, and if so did you have similar problems?
I would be grateful for any help or advice as I really like the look and feel of the mx-500 and it will be useless to me if it can't control the receiver.
