I acquired an MX 500 remote. I am having three issues. The first, the volume controls do not work in all modes, even after teaching the remote. That leads to my second problem, when I try to punch through for the audio (when in Tivo control mode) it did not work, so I tried to teach the remote using the Onkyo remote as the volume instructor. Now only the volume down works. Finally, the third issue, when the MX 500 is used to control my XM radio it will only move up or down 1 channel, otherwise I have to manually enter the channels. It seems to hang. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks

Volume control problems are usually due to inadvertant punch-throughs. If your audio is working fine while in the AUDIO device, you can punch it through to other devices. If it's not working properly in its own device, punch through that device to that device (ie: punch through AUDIO to AUDIO).

With respect to XM, if you're trying to do something with a repeating "hold down" button, hold down the button of the sending remote while learning to the MX-500. Hope that helps.
