Something's peeling off my MX-500--almost looks like it got sunburned. It seems to be the coating over the plastic that gives it that matte 'grippy' finish--underneath is regular shiny plastic. Anyone had this happen before? What can I do?

Well, it is a paint-like thing, so maybe it's worn off...

Just a thought..... when you next hold your MX-500 as you sit down to watch TV or listen to a CD, check and see if your knuckles are white. You just might be gripping the "grippy" finish a bit too hard.

;-)

Well it's just that I want to be really sure I won't drop it... ;-)

But seriously... anyone observed this before?

I bought it at the beginning of April.

Hmmmmmmmmmm..... I'd contact Mike Gifford at [email protected] and see if that is normal.

... Greg

P.S. It has never happened to mine.

I have to admit it hasn't happened to me either... my original MX-500 is a little rough around the edges, but the coating's still intact.

Greg, how old is mine? almost 2 years old?, (and it is my only remote, I have no "testers", so it sees daily use, then some), the only spots on mine that are worn smooth are the two little feet at the bottom of the remote - no dry itchy flakey skin, no dandruff, no cooties, nothin'.

All the more reason for Steavis to get in touch with Mike Gifford.

Bent: Do you shower regularly with your 500 - dandruff shampoo et al - just to be sure it's squeaky clean?

Of course, I'm not even sure you shower, so why am I asking? ;-)

I don't shower, I have a belt sander...
I don't shave either, I pound the stubble back in with the blunt end of an axe and bite the ends off from the inside!

ROTFL ^2
