With the MX-1000, it seems to be so set up that to get the volume up or down significantly, you have to keep repeatedly pushing the up/down buttons. With other universal remotes (e.g. my old Marantz), it suffices to just keep the button depressed, and the unit keeps emitting the code. Is there any way to get the MX-1000 to work this way? It is not very convenient if you have to re-depress the same button many times.

Yes, learn the volume up/down buttons to the MX-1000 by holding down the button on your original remote for a second or two. That should give you the repeating action you want. Mike www.surfremotecontrol.com
