I will get my MX-700 next week. What is the best way to start?

I have a Mits 55411, Yamaha RX-V1300 A/V Receiver, Yamaha DV-C6480 DVD player and a Time Warner Scientific Atlanta 3100 HD Cable Box plus other items that I am not worried about yet.

Thanks,
Don

1. Download MXEditor and the programming manual
2. Read the programming manual ;-)
3. Check the MXEditor database for your devices, or model numbers close to them.
4. Start setting up your device pages based on what you find or don't find in the database.
5. After downloading any database commands to check out whether they work (unless you have a laptop to check them while programming, learn the rest of the commands from your original remotes.
6. Create your macros
7. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info.

I have been playing with the editor for about one week.

From this site I have found all of the discret codes for my Yamaha stuff and from the Home Theater Spot (http://www.hometheaterspot.com) the settings for my Mits.

The next fun I will have is learning how to setup the discret codes!

I am sure I will be back asking for more help!

Don
