Is there a way to have th MX-500 scroll through the channels and volume without hitting the keys repeated times?

Are you saying that when you press CHANNEL UP, CHANNEL DOWN, VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN, it's actually sending the code really fast so that multiple changes happen to your TV?

I don't experience this, but you may find luck re-learning the codes from your original remote. Try 'tapping' the source key lightly versus pressing it down.

No, if I want to go from channel 5 to channel 20, I need to hit the up channel button 15 times. On my original remote I could hit and hold the up channel button.

Ahh, so you want the key to repeat. That, too, is in the way the MX-500 learns the code. I'd try re-learning the codes and try again. You might get it (might not though).

When learning the Channel Up/Down or Volume Up/Down buttons hold down the button of the sending remote for a second or two. That usually does the trick.

Thanks! That worked like a charm.
