I want to program my MX500 to switch my tv (Toshiba 57HDX82) to input 5,(HD line in) then to switch to aspect ratio to(natural), then swith my cable box to 504 (NBC HD).
I have the remote set up to run the cable box, TV, and the Reciver.
I kinda know how to start but I have not been able to get it to work, I want to put this one of the bottom 3 buttons.
Do I type in 5 or 05 for the TV input?

Thanks in advance!
Scott

Scott,

The first step in creating a macro (which is what the bottom 3 buttons are: M1, M2, and M3), is to determine what buttons you want the macro to 'push'. Go through the steps you want the macro to take, write them down, then use that when you program the macro.

Wow! that was fast! Thanks David
What if there is a macro already on the button, do I have to erase it some how?
Also how about hitting a number on the keypad, do I type in 5 or 05?
Thanks?

1) Programming a macro on M1 (for example) will overwrite any previous macro on that button.

2) Experiment - press all the buttons you want the macro to press until you figure out what works. You'll then know if you should use 5 or 0-5.

on the Toshiba, in the macro, you push the input button, then JUST 5, then go to the next device...

It's a one button command once the tv asks for an input number
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.
