Working with a new MX-500. After using preprogrammed codes, is it possible to move the codes to a different button. If so, how. Thank you.

Bob,

It's not possible. The only way to use ANYTHING other than the pre-programmed codes in the positions they're set from the factory is to teach the codes from another remote.

LCD labels can be edited, though, but that doesn't help you here.

Thanks David. I was afraid that was the answer. This could be somewhat of a problem for my daughter since she has lost her TV remote. However, I just purchased your MX-500 package from BlueDo which includes the OFA remote. Will I be able to use that to learn all of my daughter's Toshiba TV functions?

When learning from another remote, do you have to learn button by button, or can you learn the whole thing at once. I guess if I want functions to be on certain buttons, I must have to learn them one by one. Thanks again for your help.

You should be able to learn all of your daughter's buttons with the OFA remote, especially using Advanced Codes.

And, yes, you have to learn each code one by one to get it on the appropriate buttons.

Thanks Greg. I haven't received my OFA remote yet; I've been told it's not too complicated using it and the advanced codes. let's hope so. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the help and good advice I've gotten from you and others at this site in the past two days. Fantastic site. Thanks again.

Bob,

Using One For All Advanced Codes is very easy... just use the lists found at www.hifi-remote.com and you're all set!
