Edmund or MikeSRC,

Thanks, for all your help. I got the RS 2104 yesterday and it worked great last night. Got the discrete codes I needed for my JVC 8000 RCVR, my Pioneer PD-F1007 CD Juke Box and JVR VCR. How ever, can't get my Pioneer DVD player to respond. I have the DV-F727 Juke Box. It responded to a couple of setup codes, i.e. 0525 and 0571 but will not respond to the generic discrete codes for ON and OFF. Could you direct me where to go to get the specific codes for this unit. Can't find them in hifi-remote.com. I did find some psecifice for the 0571 setup code this morning so will try them tonight but if I knew what this unit used, would be helpful.

Thanks...

I have a different model Pioneer DVD player (DV-333). It responds to device 0571. The discrete On is 031, the discrete off is 035.

I found some other codes on hifi-remote.com yesterday for device code 0571. The sheet showed ON - 254 and OFF - 035. I tried it last night and the 254 worked ok for ON. But 035 will not shut if off. I'm one step closer. Thanks....

254 is probably play/resume (which will also turn it on). I originally had 254 listed as a discrete on for the DV-333, until I experimented and found that it was the play/resume button. As an experiment, get your original remote and with the DVD player off, press play. See if it turns on.

If this is the case and the 031 & 035 don't work for on & off, I have the feeling that your model may not have a discrete on & off. I would walk through every code on the 0571 device.

Possible work around would be:
Use play/resume as the discrete on.
Use play/resume followed by power as the discrete off.

Godd Luck.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ron. You could very well be right, now that I think about it. I'll try it tonight.

Ron,

You are correct. When I push the "Play" button it turns the player on and resumes play. I tried a number of codes last night and none work "On" or "Off" discretely so will live with what I have and your suggestion above as a work around.

Thanks for your help.
