Well, it took me 3 hours to get it all done, but that's only because I wiped the whole remote to a clean state. All 7 of my other remotes are now in my junk drawer. :-) I stand by the statement in my last post. This is the best and last remote I will ever own!!!

For all those wondering Costco shipps from Oklahoma City, OK according to UPS. The invoice states it is from "Costco Wholesale Corp, Issaquah, WA" and has "third party billing" marked all over it. The header on the paper says "Distribution Center, USA".
The costco website stated it was shipped as of 12/09 but UPS shows it shipped 12/05 (the day after the order was placed) and it arrived on 12/11.
So it appears clear that costco gets it from some distributor and not HTM. It also seems it takes them quite a while to update their website with the current shipping information from the distributor.
Still, with the costco return policy and, generally, excellent customer service I am very happy I got the remote through costco. :)
Hope this helps others who are wondering where their order is or whether or not purchase their HTM MX500 from costco.com.

Geez, I ordered one today from Cosco.com, I really hope I get it in time for Christmas! I had no idea they were taking so long to ship. I did at least pay for express shipping ($3 more)

Well, I paid for express shipping and ordered it on a Thursday night, so of course I had the weekend to deal with. I ended up getting it within 4 business days on the following Tuesday night. Just don't trust Costco's web site for shipping notification or tracking on this remote. I got the confirmation/tracking 4 hours after it had aready been delivered to my house. :-)

mdknapp: I'd already mentioned that Costco does not buy directly from HTM nor does the remote get shipped directly from HTM in a post earlier in this thread.

I'm glad you posted the link, because Costco's search function stinks. Searching on "mx-500" turns up nothing.
It now says there are "-6" in stock. I guess I should just keep trying...:(
