Hi all,

Think this is a great remote but a few things have been bothering me while using it compared to my original remotes...A few questions/observations...

1) I used to hold channel or volume buttons down and the remote would send commands repetitively so I didn't have to hit the button 15 times to go up 15 channels or to increase the volume. Currently, each individual change requires a seperate button push on the MX1000. Can I get it to perform as the original remotes?

2) When running a macro off of the M keys from the main page, I can get the macro to end (meaning to display the certain page when the macro is done) on any page in the remote, except for the Main1(favorite) page. How can I point it to the Main1 page during macro programming?

3) Lastly, any news on future ability to, via the computer, enter remote codes? I'm sure some of my equipment has discrete codes not on the original remote and discrete use would make macros a hell of a lot easier.

4) I enter button text on the main remote, and when I upload to the program, it gives me a "invalid font" error and those buttons are then blank...

5) If I upload the learned functions from the remote, does that store the commands associated with each button, including the macros? I seem to have lost all macros when I programmed the remote as I liked it, uploaded both operating program and learned function, made some changes to the text of some buttons, and then downloaded the operating program and learned function.

Anyways, despite all my issues, I really like this remote a lot. I'm hoping the smaller thread count on this forum, versus say the pronto forum, is evidence of more content users who generally are having no problems.

1) Did you "hold" the buttons when learning?

2) I don't think you can.

3) Haven't heard anything -- currently the software doesn't do ANYTHING with infrared codes besides up/download a file. I personally think graphics, layouts, macros and IR codes should have been designed into a single file format like the Pronto, Take Control or TheaterTouch.

4) Have you tried the reverse?

5) It looks like macros are not included with the LDT file.

As for 1) I found if I just pressed the buttons and released when learning it would learn to only send exactly what I entered (1 or 2 volume changes etc). But - if you hold the button down until the remote tells you to release it, the remote will learn to keep going.

Just to update everyone...
1) The holding the original button down trick worked. I just held it down for 4-5 seconds, then repeated it again holding it down. Now it works for colume and channel, yea :)

2)As in another thread, I don't think you can end a macro from an M Key on the Main1 page. So, I just deleted my main1 page and configured my main page as the main1 was. Deleted all text labels from devices I don't use and turned them into little triangular shapes which I placed around the screen (where they are unlikely to get touched) in a semi-attempt at decoration. Had lotsa problems with small sized icons, but that's been discussed.

Things are getting better.
Things I don't like...
-Reprogramming the macros everytime I download the operating program.
-I have a page (Page 2 under dev 12) that when I click on it to view it, it immediately gives me a run time error. There's nothing on the page in the remote, and I've tried uploading the program from the remote, with no luck. Seems I've got a dead page. Nothing to bother me now, but what if I need it someday?

- Does anyone else's pet hairs stick like hell to the buttons on the remote?

Yeah, I still love the coating on my 15-1994 better than the sticky rubbery coating on the MX-1000. I find crumbs stick to my MX-1000's buttons. Of course I would NEVER eat in front of the TV. :)

I've noticed "newer" MX-1000s have much harder, less sticky hard buttons. I like the less sticky part, but not the harder part.
