I got my MX500, like it but its a GS1 with the infamous center button problem on the directional pad. I'm around 10% accurate when I press this center button. I can program the center button to the play button but then my DVD won't work correctly since I need the directional and transport buttons.

What do I do. Return it, I bought it from buy.com, or does HTM offer a replacement with a GS2 model.

Does Bluedo or Surferemote guarantee me a GS2 model if I return this and order from them instead.

Thanks.

You have a few options. You can return it to buy.com or you can contact Mike Gifford at Home Theater Master ([email protected]) and ask about getting it repaired or replaced (they are great about taking care of their customers when it come to this problem).

We only sell the GS2 models, and I'm sure that Randy at Bluedo has stated in the past that they only sell GS2s as well.

So has GS2 really taken care of this problem, searching the site there seems to be mixed reviews, some saying the Select button is fixed, some say not.

Are there newer versions than the GS2? Does HTM just send you a new GS2 or they fix your original.

Thanks.

Some people have had problems with the GS2 thumbpad, but far fewer than with the GS1. Some people that have had a pre-GS model, just don't like the stiffer action of the thumbpad.

There are no newer versions than the GS2. I can't speak for HTM, but most people have been happy with whatever they've done to rectify the situation.

My GS1 came back with only the button replaced (I marked the remote so I could tell what had been done). It was MUCH worse than when I sent it to HTM. After a bit of a runaround, I returned it (at my expense), and was sent a NEW GS2 (box and manual both had pictures of MX-500 with round power buttons).

The new remote has been 100% even when used in my left hand. We didn't have use of it for so long, the wife will not use it now. If the MX-700 was the same color, I think I could sneak one in on her....Sam in Phx
