I was just wondering what is used to control DVD's. I have a Pioneer dv333. Are the hard keys used for transport or for Menu?

I guess the hard keys can be used to navagate the dvd menu and the center key selects. Then are the transport keys on the LCD?

Also, is the MX-1000 ready for 'prime time" yet? Seems as though people do not like the software, etc.

TIA

There's hard keys for both menu & transport (most transport). Take a look at the review on this site -- the photographs should help.

Thanks Daniel...I did look before posting. I was not refering to the remotes menu.

I meant that if you were playing a DVD, there are transport keys. So what can you use for the DVD menu to access the dvd's features, audio selection, etc? Will you need to accesss those via a lcd screen?

Dan...is center button also a roller so it can be used to navigate dvd menu and then you use the 4 keys for play, stop, etc?

I downloaded the manual and I think that is what they seem to indicate.

The center "button" is not really a button - it's a five way joystick (4 directions and push). I use the four hard buttons that surround the joystick (play, ffwd, rew, and stop) to do exactly what they say. I use the joystick for transport with the push as enter.

Vanessa...

So on DVD you can use the "joystick" for menus and audio select, etc?

Thanks.

Whatever you want! But generally it's for left/right/up/down/enter. The surrounding buttons are play/ff/rw/stop.

I'm using it exactly as Daniel described...
