I bought a Sony VL1000 but I am returning it this weekend. I didn't like it much. I hope I like this remote a lot better. Is the enter key on the remote's joystick usually okay for most people? One thing about the VL1000 I didn't like was hitting up on the joystick it didn't work all the time. I paid $144 for the MX-500 that included 2nd day air shipping and 8 AAA batteries (can never have too many batteries!) does that sound like a good deal?

You won't be dissapointed. I have 2 MX-500s. I like being able to use one hand to surf menus and guides and the thumbpad and surounding buttons work very well for that. The 'select' function (center of thumbpad) is a little touchy but you'll get used to it.
Do an 'AUX 155' on all devices and then learn all commands. It's easy, fast, and you'll know what every button does (no surprises).
Enjoy!
