If "Home Theater Master" ever has need to update the firmware again on the MX-500...
Could you possibly put in an option or "backdoor" that would allow you to directly enter descrete remote codes?
No PC Interface. No Problem. Just type in the IR code using the keypad. Admitedly tedious, but I think it would prove quite useful to many.
Whatever format is easiest. I'm sure any format could be converted back and forth from other popular formats.

Good Idea? Bad Idea? Impossible?
It's just a suggestion.

Publish whatever the internal format is and I'm sure *someone* will write a Pronto Hex converter for it. Pronto Hex seems to be the defacto standard these days, with numerous converters to and from other formats.

I'm hoping a converter will make its way to us users.
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.
