Hi, I'm new to remote programming and chat rooms in general (can't type worth a damn). Just got my MX-700 and am starting to learn how to program it. I tried the live update, but the Firmware version still shows 1.91 and Universal Data (IR Database?) 1.36. I closed the program (v1.02) and reopened it with no change. What did I do wrong?

Did you download your configuration to the MX-700 and then check the firmware versions?

If you don't download the LiveUpdate to the remote, it won't show the proper versions.

... Greg :-)

You need to download data to the remote after doing a liveupdate for the firmware change to get into the remote.

Thanks. Should I download to the remote after I have programmed all my devices or should I download even though I have not really set up very much?

You should always download to the remote as soon as you get an new LiveUpdate.

So, yes, do it now.

Well that did the trick. I really appreciate the help. I'm sure I'll have several more questions as I wrestle with this project.
