As far as I can see in the manual, you can only test a learned code after you download to the remote. So every time I want to test a code, I do a download. Why bother? Just try it on the remote.

Since I am having lots of problems with this remote learning codes from my Dish Network and TiVos, and I'm also having lots of problems downloading to the remote, this is getting VERY frustrating!

Philosofy,

What kind of Tivos are you having problems with? I had no problem whatsoever learning the Sony SAT-T60.

I have Philips standalones. I think I have the TiVo codes sorted out: now its the Dish Network (remote codes 1 & 2) that are giving me fits. It took me over 45 minutes to get a sucessful download today, and then half an hour to get another, because the codes didn't learn properly. Tomorrow I will email my device file to my desktop, and see if I have better luck there.

I just completed learning the IR cmds for the following Dish Network receivers:

1) Series 6000 with remote ID = 2
2) Series 301 with remote ID = 11

I'll be uploading my .mxf file with the codes in the near future. Feel free to use what you want.

Note: Not all cmds from all remotes were learned to the MX-700. I only learned the cmds that I deemed necessary and/or useful. Still, the set of cmds that I chose should be fairly complete (for most purposes).
