My MX700 & W-XP are not communicating and I have done the following:
1. Rebooted the PC and the MX700. 2. Checked the Device Manager and the COM 1 Port is OK. 3. There are no IRQ conflicts. 4. All connector pins are OK. 5. Selected COM 1 in the Editor software.
6. Reloaded W-XP 7. Called URC and they said to try the Partial DL, didn't work. 8. Tried to do a 2-week old W-XP restore but the reloaded W-XP deleted all Restore files, darn. 9. Tried COM 2 through 6
(more)
10. Deleted and re-installed MXeditor 11. Deleted Windows CE ActiveSync 12. Looked at MSOFT Knowledge Base - nothing 13. Added a Com2 and COM3 add-in board
Anyone have any suggestions?

Hmmm ... I haven't had any problems with XP on mine, Jim. Maybe you could try reassigning COM2 or another open COM to your serial port.

Jim, did you try Eric's suggestion? Let me know how it works out.

Greg,
This was the suggestion, but it sounds like Jim already tried it:
1) Reboot the PC. 2) Do a partial download to the remote 3) Do a full download to the remote 4) Resume testing and programming.

I just remembered one more thing. Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling MX Editor?

Jim, also try closing everything you can that's running in the background including antivirus, hotsyncs etc., and also try reinstalling mxediter as well.

Jim: When did you do your last update of the MX Editor software?

Anyone reading this: Always remember that only one piece of software can use the same COM port at one time. Palm Hotsync screws people up regularly, but there are other software out there that hog the COM port too.
So, always check that your MX-Editor software is the ONLY software that is using the serial port at the time.
... Greg :-)

Yep, that's it as taking a suggestion of deleting programs one-by-one after a C-A-D something was hogging my Port.
Thanks to all.
