The codes 068 and 124 wont work for the Hughes. Is there another DSS receiver code that will work? Also the Echostar codes. Your replies would be appreciated. Just got the remote and so far so good.. I guess there is no way to remove a preprogrammed function on the device button... I tried to use the "155" code it would not remove preprogrammed function codes.. What is Daniel refering to in his review as a "1..2" code right after explaining the "155" code??I just had it learn a "blank" function from another remote to cover it up and then deleted the function name. Now if it is accidently pushed, nothing happens.

Ken, It sounds like you're not doing the AUX 155 procedure correctly: What is the AUX 155 Procedure?
There is a code preprogrammed in the MX-500 which basically clears out that device. It's very useful when you are learning the codes from your existing original remote controls (which is what we recommend).
Please follow this example, where we perform the AUX 155 Procedure on the "TV" device:
1) Press MAIN and ENT together for a few seconds to enter programming mode. 2) Select P-PRO. 3) Press the TV LCD button. 4) Press the lower left LCD button. 5) Press the top left LCD button, where it shows a number. 6) Press 1 5 5. 7) Press the top right LCD button, where it says SAVE. 8) Press MAIN twice to exit programming mode.
You'll now notice that if you press TV, that none of the buttons emit anything. |
Then, just learn the buttons from your original remote! Randy www.BlueDo.com

That is something that I can get to later.
Right now, in addition to the Hughes DSS codes not working, none of the codes in the book for the Echostar receiver will work..I can't believe that as many codes that were listed that none worked..This is very frustrating..

Ken, A manufacturer may make a hundred different models, each with 100 different codes. It's logistically impossible for a remote control company to package every code for every model of every device in the remote :) That's why the AUX-155 procedure is great - it lets you "clear out" a device on the remote, so you can learn all the codes from your original remote, and be SURE they are the right codes! Don't mess with the pre-programmed codes, they're never 'perfect' and they never have every code. Your original remote always works :) Randy www.BlueDo.com
