I am currently creating pages of favorite channels and have labled them into catagories. That was easy. Then I went and learned the appropriate channel #'s to all the station logos. Again, easy. Now here's the problem. When the remote sends the signal, it's sending too many numbers!
Example: when I hit the button for "NBC", it enters 44 instead of just 4. (I am sending the signals to a Panasonic PVH2000 showstopper if that helps at all)
I have to hit some sort of enter command after the channel # to speed up the already painfully slow channel changing process, and was wondering if there is a "prefered" button to use when learning the channel #'s(the center of the thumbpad or the physical "ent" button). I have tried both and noticed that when using the "ent" button it actually appears on the remote while using the center of the thumbpad doesnt.
Could I use a "pause" keystroke in between the channel # and "ent"?? I think I'm already overthingking this one, so I'll leave it to the pro's. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

(and my thumbpad works perfect for everything so far) :-)

Thx. in advance,
Mark

This problem has come up in the past with favorite channel macros. Even if you did not use preprogrammed codes for your devices, there are sometimes underlying default ones that screw up the favorite macro. Use the AUX 155 code to clean out the device you're using for the channel selection, then relearn the channel numbers from the original remote. That should solve the problem.

Also, remeber that the Favorite Channel macros will only work with the following buttons: [0] though [9], [ENT], [DIS], [PAUSE/INFO], [POWER] and [SYSTEM OFF].

Mark,

I had the same problem as you. When I used the number buttons (0-9) to switch channel on my Humax satellite receiver it worked fine but when used on a fav button some numbers were sent out twice.
Since some of the number buttons always worked as they should but others didn't I suspected something wrong in the learning process of the number buttons.
I noticed that if I pressed a number button too long when learning my MX-500 it worked OK on the MX-500 when pressing the number buttons but not when used on a Fav button.
All I did was relearning those buttons that didn't work by simply just pressing down the number button shortly while learning the MX-500 and not holding it down too long.
If you press it down too short the MX-500 may not learn the command at all so you have to try it out and find the best duration of your key presses.

Regards Joakim

mikeSRC,

It worked. I just used the 155 code and then learned all the functions from the RePlay remote. I was actually going to try that, but wanted some input from people like you first. Thanx. Now I just gotta find someone to buy my TSU1000 which is making a nice paper weight on my desk. :-)
