Hi all, I'm new to this forum. Just got 2 MX-500's recently. Great remote. I have a question about the device names in the Main page. Can these names be edited? I'm not sure if many people still have Tape devices that use the IR remote, and how about us folks who still have laserdisc players?
Thanks in advance.

Sure, you do it like this:
1. Enter the programming mode by pressing MAIN and ENTER simultaneously for three seconds. 2. Press EDIT. 3. Press the PAGE button, then the device button you wish to change. 4. Change the text as described in the Owner's Manual. 5. Save the text by pushing the button you were editing.

I could be wrong here, but I think you will also have to re-lable and/or re-learn the functions for that device button. I only recieved my MX500 a couple of days ago, but if my memory serves me correctly, there are functions pre-learned to the buttons for the original device which was there when the remote came out of the box. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me, as I'm not 100% sure of this.

Mark, Sure, the remote does come with labels and preset settings. It's not shipped "blank". Randy www.BlueDo.com

Wow, thanks for the quick response! I didn't have the manual handy and didn't know if this can be done. I brought the remote in to work to do some programming (must be a remote junkie like the rest of you!). I hope that changing the labels won't obliterate the programming already done.

Not at all. Text labels are completely separate from the codes programmed in the remote. Randy www.BlueDo.com
