I just received my MX500 from RRDeals and I love it. However, I have stumbled onto a problem. There seems to be a preprogrammed macro in the M3 button. It sends out a signal when in the cable, sat, tv or VCR1 modes. If I'm in the VCR1 mode and hit the M3 button, the remote completely locks up everytime and I have to remove one battery to clear it. I have tried erasing the macro several times but it's still there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Have you tried learning another macro over top of the original one?

If you are not using the M3 button for a macro, then just record a macro as simple as a one step macro using an IR code that doesn't send a signal that any of your equipment recognizes.

That way if someone accidentally hits it, then it won't do anything to your HT equipment.

If this doesn't work, get back to us!

Thanks for the tip. I tried it and it did the trick. I programmed a stop command for my tape deck which cannot be controlled by a remote. It's very old. My CD player remote has a tape deck setting so I learned the code from it. The only problem is that now of course the screen will change to the tape deck screen. I think my remote has a minor bug in it. I remember reading here that someone else had the same problem but he was able to erase his macro. Is this a known issue?
